Delhi To Gangtok, Sikkim

The distance between Delhi and Gangtok, Sikkim, is roughly around 1,400 to 1,500 kilometers, depending on the route you take. There are multiple ways to travel between these two destinations:

By Air:

The fastest way to travel is by taking a flight from Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) in Delhi to Bagdogra Airport (IXB) in West Bengal, which is the nearest airport to Gangtok. From Bagdogra, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to Gangtok, which is approximately 124 kilometers away. The entire journey takes around 2 to 3 hours by flight and another 4 to 5 hours by road.

By Train:

There’s no direct train connectivity between Delhi and Gangtok as Sikkim doesn’t have a railway station. However, you can take a train from Delhi to New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) in West Bengal, which is the nearest major railway station to Gangtok. From NJP, you can again hire a taxi or take a bus to reach Gangtok, which takes around 4 to 5 hours.

By Road:

You can also travel from Delhi to Gangtok by road. This journey takes around 24 to 30 hours depending on the route and mode of transport. You can either drive your own car or hire a cab. It’s a long journey, so it’s advisable to break it into multiple stops.

Regardless of the mode of transport you choose, make sure to plan your journey well in advance, especially if you’re traveling during peak tourist seasons.
